Encaustic Photo Workshop by Elizabeth Messina + Leah MacDonald

Aren't you in Elizabeth Messina fun club yet? As for me, I'm totally in! Recently she celebrated her new book, The Luminous Portrait (you can join the party here), and somewhere in the middle of July there was also a workshop (a rare and huge event in the world of wedding photography, just so you know). So many good things for Elizabeth, right? And for us, as well! There on this workshop there was also an Encaustic Photo Class by Leah MacDonald of Bliss Books, and it's really interesting technique, which helps to add on something manual to so digital process of photography. I miss something manual in my life so much!

В рамках этого воркшопа также прошел мастер-класс от Leah MacDonald из Bliss Books по технике энкаустики (восковой живописи). Это действительно очень интересная техника, которая помогает привнести что-то рукотворное в такой цифровой процесс фотографии. Мне очень не хватает чего-то ручного в моей жизни!

Pinhole Window View by Monique Habraken

Pinhole Window View by Monique Habraken; expands the pinhole principle to the real life. With the only source of light from the small hole in window curtain, Monique lighted the room and the fabric, painted with some light-sensitive emulsion on the opposite wall. As the time passed, the emulsion captured some silhouettes both from inside and outside the room. You can see some part of the process in the video below.

Через маленькую дырочку в шторе Моник освещала комнату и находившуюся на противоположной от окна стене ткань, пропитанную специальной светочувствительной эмульсией. Friday 365: Weeks 43-45

It's quite a challenge for me to take pictures these days, as I'm not the biggest fan of the place, where I live right now. It doesn't inspire me, and I can do nothing about it but accept. I'm not in the best mood, as all my summer is paperwork, renovations and other boring stuff, but I will survive! Just one month, and I'll be back to my sweet home and salty beach. 

В последнее время снимать - целое испытание для меня, так как мне не слишком нравится то место, где я сейчас живу, и я ничего не могу с этим поделать, кроме как смириться. Я не в лучшем настроении, так как мое лето проходит за бумажной возней, ремонтом и другими скучными занятиями, но я выживу! Всего один месяц, и я вернусь к своему любимому дому и соленому океану.
